One-to-one French holiday tuition, southern France

Learn French… in the country

Local French cafe life

Come to French in the Country for private, experienced, French language teaching in a picturesque setting (rural Cévennes, southern France).

We give classes in this lovely part of France from June until September. The rest of the time we offer the same quality teaching in London and Brussels (see Learn French in Town).

“Un enseignement de haute qualité, un accueil merveilleux, une semaine splendide !”, Nigel - April 2010
“Excellent stay. The course was very good value for money. Bernadette has worked her socks off! Thank you very much for a lovely week.”, Royce - October 2006
“Very enjoyable week. Excellent tuition, good food, beautiful scenery and to top it all going by jeep with Stephane into the hills to see and hear the deer in the wild”, Tessa - October 2005

Option 1 - Total Immersion in the French language

French in the Country offers true immersion in the French language. You live in the gîte next door to the bilingual, native French-speaking teacher.

With French in the Country you will learn, hear and speak the language for around 10 hours a day, as suits your needs.

Each day is divided into formal classes, conversation classes and various activities of your choice. At meals (delicious local cuisine prepared by Antoni), during the breaks and in the evenings you can practice in a more informal way what you have learnt during the classes.

Option 2 - Holiday, with a pinch of French

You (and friends or family) rent out our gîte in Southern France for a few days or by the week, and you choose how many French classes a day you want to have. The rest of the time you can visit our beautiful Cévennes region and practice your French in a range of settings.

The classes can be for any level - from absolute beginners to advanced. They can either be one-to-one or for a couple - if you are both roughly the same level.
